The LORD is my strength and song, and is become my salvation. Psalm 118:14
Note the progression here. God is, first, strength and song...then He becomes salvation. God has to be our help and hope while we're in a problem before He can ever be our salvation from it. If you want to be saved from something, you have to first learn to lean on His strength and hold to His hope within the trial. God isn't just God sometimes--He's God all the time. He was God before your suffering, He'll be God after your suffering...and you must learn to rely on Him as God during your suffering.
